Common Threads

Wow it's been a while. Right now I'm dog sitting Fred, my sister's pup, so it's been a little hectic. But I had to share, I've joined another thing! I got an email from Rebekah about a new quilting bee, and I was super excited to join! It's the Common Threads Quilting Bee, and here is the gorgeous header:

It's a group of 13 quilters, and we each have a month (mine is May, 2009) where we send fabric out to everyone, and get blocks back! Rebekah has the first month, and sent out some gorgeous reds. I just posted a little blurb about myself there, so if you feel so inclined, head on over.

I'll be posting the blocks I make here, so at the very minimum, that will increase my blogging to once a month!

Oh man, you're so talented with your quilts it makes me want to bury my head in the sand!

Speaking of sand, I looove the quilt on the beach (saw it on the common thread blog)! Such a lovely combo of colors. How much time does it take to finish a quilt like this?

What a fun group you've joined and I know wonderful quilts will come out of this venture.

Hi Ivy! I'm pretty sure I finished that quilt in one weekend. I was determined to finish it to be able to take it to the beach! I want to make another quilt in the same fabrics...

Thanks June! I'm super excited for it, and I figure it will keep my (now dusty) sewing machine busy!

What a cool group to join! I need to get involved in something like that...maybe then I'd actually get a quilt done. (I do have one top all finished I've just been too lazy to pin and quilt it.)

Can't wait to see what comes out of the group? I've been impressed and inspired by what I've seen on the site so far!
