My house has no insulation, so it gets pretty darn hot. I like to leave the front door open (we have a screen door) and open the windows in my bedroom. It circulates the air through the house, and makes sort of a wind tunnel in the hallway. It usually slams the hallway door shut with a loud BANG.
I was using Chris' un-installed car radio as a doorstop, but then he decided to try and install it (a completely different story) so I was left with no doorstop.
Thankfully, not only do I like to collect junk, but I like to collect bookmarks of useful tutorials online. This one was by Elizabeth of Oh Frasson, and who has been featured on Sew Mama Sew several times. Here is the link for the tutorial. You definitely should bookmark the site, it is fantastic. TONS of inspiration. I am planning on using her minky applique tutorial sometime soon.
Lucy was less than pleased that I was not playing with her, although she appreciates the doorstop because she doesn't get locked in the hallway anymore!

I wanted to make a doorstop, too! But I have no door to hold open. LOVE Elizabeth's site though. It's great! Lucy is looking super cute and annoyed haha...she must be happy you're back from Maui though.
Oh man! I really wish I had picked up some of that bird fabric but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's got so many great uses including this lovely door stop.
so adorable! I think I have some of that fabric sitting in my stash : )
Your quilting always looks so perfect!
Love Lucy's "cameo" in the first photo :D Hope you guys enjoyed Maui!
I love your new doorstop and it looks like it's just the right size for a door. I made the Lotta Jansdotter versions last year and find they are too large and I trip over them constantly. The link you provided will help me rectify that problem.
What a great idea.
I love your quilts! The colors you put together are really nice. My sewing machine broke a few months ago (took a tumble down the stairs) but looking at your blog has motivated me to take it in to get it fixed. Especially now that the season will soon be changing.
Cute doorstop!
And, really now, Lucy is so expressive! Look at that punnum!
very cute, lynn. i have this one bookmarked too. your turned out great!
lynn...thanks so much for the guidance on what to do next. the little houses are actually turning out pretty cute. zig zag would have looked better, but my machine just isn't up to that...i'll wait for the bernina to try that. thanks again! you're the best.
I have really enjoyed my first visit with you. I love your blog. Thanks for sharing.
LOve that fabric! I haven't seen that... great idea. I was just looking for the piece of wood I've been using as a doorstop... hmmmmm...
