Whew! It's been a long time! I do have Lucy updates, and some Dear Jane blocks finished, but a quick post for now. Lucy is getting HUGE. She needed a new collar, and I saw this post by Jenna of CorgiPants, and I went online and bought the kit. This was back in February. Fast forward to today (April 23) and Lucy's old collar is waaaay too small. So I finally got my act together (more by necessity rather than choice), and made her this!
It was super super easy. The wonky sewing is because I didn't think in advance with where my sewing machine foot was going in relation to the big buckles. But I think the collar is cute anyway. No shots with Lucy, because when she has it on, it mostly gets covered by her fur!

It looks great, just like something bought in a store. I've seen the tutorials on making these but since I don't have any pets, I'm saving the idea for future.
How did you work out the dilemma of the buckle/sewing machine challenge?
Awesome! I love the fabric you used. It looks like something you would buy in a store (and the stitching totally blends in).
How big is Lucy now? Theo is about 20 pounds. How's about some new pictures already? :p
That's super cute! I can't wait to see Lucy in July!
Cute cute cute! Isn't that the pits with double coated dogs? All the cute collars get covered up!
Adorable! I use harnesses for my boys. But you are making me want to make some collars. We need to see a picture of Lucy sporting her new collar.
Super cute! ^_^ Good job!
Well Lucy is a growing pup. I hope she doesn't get too big! I thought she was a the prefect size the last time I saw her, she was sooooo cute. ^_^
Great collar! Can't wait to have a dog of mine so I have an excuse to make a cool doggy collar!
Btw, what size kit did you get for Lucy?
such fun colors and patterns! so cute! way nicer than the plain old collars available at the pet store!
Hey Lynn, how is Lucy doing with her teething?
Awww! Super duper cute collar! But I know what you mean that you really can't see that much of the collar on your corgi. They do have one furry neck :D
