B-1 Batchelor Buttons

B-01 Batchelor Buttons
My first reverse applique (and hand applique) block, and it's painfully obvious. I really enjoyed doing the block, and it's pretty obvious to me which circles were done first. The circles got better as I got more practice. Fabric is from Whiffle Tree before they closed.

Another easy nine patch. The green and yellow fabrics are are from Japan, and the red was from a neighborhood quilt shop. The fabrics from Japan are my favorites!!

My first Dear Jane block! This one was a simple one. The fabric is the ever so popular color by numbers bird fabric. I got a few yards of it from Whiffle Tree Quilts when it was closing.

Dear Jane Background Fabric

Lucy sprawled on yardage
For my background fabric for my baby jane, I decided to use an off-white kona cotton. Kona cotton in snow. It's fabulous. I bought 20 yards, and it came in one bolt of 16 yards and a folded bit of 4 yards.

The problem with buying 20 yards of fabric is that you have to wash it and then iron it all! It took awhile to iron it, and Lucy obviously lost patience with me and decided to take a nap!

Lucy Update, 5 months

Lucy 5 month update

My little girl is 5 months old!! Well over 5 months, but someone is a little behind on blogging... So lets see, she's graduated from puppy kindergarten, had a few baths, made a best friend (Josie, the red headed tri above), gone to a corgi meetup, pooped on the Golden Gate Bridge (!!), fallen asleep on my fabric, and found a new favorite toy! Whew! That's a lot!

The center photo is her new trick, "sit pretty". Notice her pretty new collar?

And we're back!

Whew! It's been a long time! I do have Lucy updates, and some Dear Jane blocks finished, but a quick post for now. Lucy is getting HUGE. She needed a new collar, and I saw this post by Jenna of CorgiPants, and I went online and bought the kit. This was back in February. Fast forward to today (April 23) and Lucy's old collar is waaaay too small. So I finally got my act together (more by necessity rather than choice), and made her this!

Lucy's new collar

It was super super easy. The wonky sewing is because I didn't think in advance with where my sewing machine foot was going in relation to the big buckles. But I think the collar is cute anyway. No shots with Lucy, because when she has it on, it mostly gets covered by her fur!

When Lobsters Attack...

This is how I feel:

DSC_2559

Ok, maybe not embarrassed that I'm dressed up as a lobster, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with school, reffing and finding furniture for my house. I've been doing a teeeny bit of sewing, hopefully more this weekend!!
