As much as I love the name "Finny and Donk's Sewing Adventure", it's so long! We need to think of a good acronym for it. In any case, I finished mine early (for once)! Hurray! It really was a Simple Gift to Stitch. Finished it up while the princess was taking a nap.
I used some wool from a leftover project, and my precious Alexander Henry Bird Seed fabric (see, I even know the name of it). Since I didn't want to use faux fur, and I still wanted it poofy, and cut a piece of high loft batting and sewed it inside. It think it turned out well. I was going to top stitch around the edges, but then I decided I kind of liked it with the rounded edges. There are some FANTASTIC looking scarves in the photo group for FADSA. The ones with faux fur look great too! I found the button on etsy. It makes me so happy.
Who needs a sad looking model anyway? I figure smiling in my self portrait was the way to go. The scarf will be perfect for the rest of winter. What a great start to F&D's SA!

I like the scarf! I just ordered the book from Amazon yesterday...to add to ALL my other new sewing books.
On a side note....FADSA makes me think of FAFSA. Maybe I'm just weird.
The high loft batting was a great idea. I like that it looks so cushy!
What a great looking scarf!
Lucy is as cute as ever! She's especially cute napping.
This is my favorite neck warmer scarf I've seen all season! I love the gray with the yellow, so pretty!!
I saw your project on our group's Flickr account and just love your scarf. And your smile is fabulous!
Wow! Just gorgeous. I love the wool and that button is stunning. Bravo!
Good call with the batting. It gives it a more cozy look, where otherwise I think it would look to flat. :)
Here I am again!
I just want to let you know I've posted the Linky Meme you tagged me with on my blog (Feb. 5 post).
I LOVE it! The combination of the grey wool and the yellow in the cute lining is fabulous. And the button is just icing on the cake. The sunshine that you photographed in it is killing me! Enjoy it if you still got it.
Great job - the button is the perfect touch!!
I like this a lot! I need to get started on mine!
Your scarf looks great, Lynn! That button is so perfect.
I know! Aren't we so obnoxious with the name this time? We have stopped restricting ourselves I suppose.
I say we should all feel free to use the acronym and cultivate some sort of underground conspiracyness...
Either way - your scarf is HOT! And I also really want to cuddle Lucy. I love Corgis!!
I want to be just like you with a scarf just like you. I hope I'm not too lazy to be like you. Happy Birthday!
