Ok I'll admit it. I don't really like mystery quilts. They never turn out like I want them to. The idea is fun. Getting fabric and then chopping it up into a surprise pattern... but something always isn't quite right.
My friend Cheri is hosting a mystery quilt, and I'm pretty excited for it. Instead of choosing a few main fabrics, this one has you pick 6 fabrics from each of 5 tonal groups, clear light, medium light, medium, medium dark and deep dark. These fabrics are all from my stash, which makes me very very happy. I think I will be replacing at least 3 of the fabrics with something else. Now I just have to do the pre-cutting and I'll be all set! Hurray!

How fun! Make sure you post the finished product! :)
Btw, I love the new blog header! That picture of Lucy is definitely one in a million. :) I like the title font too. Where'd you edit it?
Hey Julo! I used picnik, found on your site. It's so easy! I really like how it links with Flickr. I can never remember the name though...
It will be very interesting to see what develops with this mystery quilt project. I think it would make me crazy not to know ahead of time exactly what it will be or look like.
What a fun idea.
Wow, that's a lot of stash fabric! I thought you went on a fabric shopping spree...
Oh, don't you love Picnik? I think it's just awesome. I don't remember seeing that font, but probably because I was focusing on the more hand-written-looking fonts for my blog. Well it looks great! :)
hurray for using the stash! I need to do more of that myself.
